Archaeological Excavation of the First World War

The Heritage Society talk for November will feature battlefield archaeologist Alex Sotheran, who will give a talk on his experiences working on the Western Front. Alex will give a general introduction to the work he has been involved in over the last 15 years on battlefield sites in France and Belgium. He will look at the general material that you would expect to find on a First World War site and examine three particular sites showing what can be learnt from the archaeology of the world’s most bloody and brutal war.

Join us at 7.30 on Wednesday November 28th at The Concertina Club, Dolcliffe Road, for what will doubtlessly prove to be an interesting and informative evening.
